    Sounds like the issue I had with mine and we ran a ground wire to the frame if I remember correctly. Will try to get some pics later of mine for ya.

    Do you get decent reception with the ground like that? Because as of now, I'm only able to get about half a mile out of mine before it all goes to static :eek:

    Just make sure wherer you groud it is clean metal. No paint. A bolt on the frame would work good. Just run a 16ga wire too it

    On Becky's we ran a wire from the mount to the frame. ( grinded down the frame where I mounted it. With a 3ft antenna we could hear each other 3 miles away (in the city). Not the best but has worked out great for wheeling.



    Don't think the ground on the bed rails is good enough.

    There's a grounding bolt on the frame just in front of the left-side axel. That's where I ran mine and I'm getting a 1.2 SWR reading on channel 20.

    Oh Alex, I see your location says Denton....that's not too terribly far from me. Would you send me the info to the shop? I need to have somebody solder up my connector because I tried it myself and completly jacked it up. Then I could just have them tune it also.
