And you can run used motor oil for fuel and save money on diesel. I might have a source for it in your part of the metroplex.

5.9 are the other engine that run good on it. A guy at work did a lot of research on it. Said the Chevy duramax does not do well and most of the newer diesels don't like it.

Wow that's crazy low mileage. Pretty old though. Decided I'm alright with spending a few grand if I need too. Blake I really like that red one you posted. I could probably swing that one. I have a big job I'm gonna finish up this week. Gonna end up getting a new truck early to middle july.

And blake that's good info about the 2 cycle. How much would you put in?

I wonder if it would run on Jet A :spy:

Hey there, gonna be moving back to TX soon, probably in a year or so, and was wanting to see if any of ya'll have some insight on jobs? My family and I are looking to move to the Hill Country area surrounding Austin. I am originally from Lago Vista and know the area fairly well. My job background is in Process Operations. I am currently the lead Plant Operator at an Air Separation unit in Delaware. I would be looking for something similar in the field of Industrial Plant Operations, such as chemical plants, power plants, or any kind of process plant environment. Any sort of leads would be helpful, as I will be hitting the job search very hard. Thanks fellas.

Hopefully so. I like jobs like this. Trying to move into the bigger jobs just not quite sure how. Trying to think of ways to advertise for stuff like this.

Everything has gone really smoothly so far. Damn nice professional job if I do say so myself. And I learned I'm a master at welding posts up level.

The Texas job market is doing pretty good right now. The Austin area is still pretty strong but there are more "plant operations" around Midland/Odessa and Houston. That said; well qualified people are not having real hard times finding work right now. There is a definite lack of skilled workers.

I would suggest going legit and getting commercial insurance. There are a lot of benefits of setting up an LLC to protect you/your assets. Once you have a legit company setup with the state you be "professional" to advertise and talk to the bigger jobs.

I have noticed tons of Jobs in the Houston, Midland, and Dallas area. So far only one has struck my interest in the Austin area. I would love to stay with my company, and they are everywhere in Texas but the Austin area. I appreciate your response as well. Me personally, I would take a job in Houston, but my Fiance is not a fan of that sort of humid heat. She doesn't mind the Dallas area, but really has her heart set on the Hill Country, partly because that is where all of my family is, and she just generally likes that area.

The DFW area is a good place to look. There are a lot of companies coming to DFW and bringing big jobs with them. If you live on the south side of DFW the Hill Country is only a couple of hours away. My wife and I have rode my motorcycle down into that area for a lunch ride before.

The great thing about Texas is everything is just a drive away. I had breakfast at home (1 hr south of DFW), lunch in DFW, and dinner in San Antonio yesterday. I still went to sleep in my own bed last night.

I also have +200k miles on my Tacoma; but that is completely unrelated. :D

Yeah, I've seen more and more jobs pop up in the DFW area. My company has two openings in Terrell, and I have a friend who works at the power plant in Granbury. I don't mind driving one bit, I've got 120k mi on my 2010 Tacoma, so I'm used to doing long hauls. We will be flying in to Austin in late September so she can check out the area, so maybe I can change her mind about DFW.

Which power plant in Granbury? I live here and have worked at the nuclear plant. If you have any questions feel free to PM me; I'm pretty familiar with most of the area between here and Marble Falls.

What kind of activities does she like? Right now is a great time to buy in Granbury because the lake is really low so homes are not moving that well. It should return to normal levels as the drought snaps and with it the home prices will climb again.

Not sure which plant he's at, I'll have to get in touch with him. I've tried to get in to the Nuke plant here run by Exelon, but I Don't have Nuke experience and don't know anyone there to get me a shoe in. You pretty much have to know someone to get in. I will most certainly be in contact with you. As for her activities, she is a massage therapist, she is in to holistic medicine, which is why she likes Austin so much. Also she wants to be close to water, so lakes are definitely in. Lake Travis is having the same drought problem as well. It is so low, the tracks are exposed from when they built Mansfield Dam.

Granbury has a decent population of people with more money than brains so holistic medicine would do good here. I know there are more than a hand full of massage places here in town.
