I've never been, but there's one right down the 820 from me.

Was I shorter than expected? My typos make people think I cannot see over the keyboard.

It was good to put a face to a name and good to finally meet you.

This is located outside of the Texas area so if I go to it the mods get a report about my activities. IF I vote for you they will temp ban you just on the grounds of being associated with my activity.

    Also - fukcing spammer.

In other news; I now have 227k miles on my truck. Think I need to change the serpentine belt finally.

If it makes you feel better I have lost one tooth due to alcohol and had family members in prison a couple of times.

2,000 miles into a 5,500 mile road trip, and the truck needs a little lovin. I am in Austin looking for a reliable shop for oil change, tire rotation, and alignment. Any recommendations?

. Awesome. I know there is some dude out there over 375k, but 227k is pretty respectable.

So I take it the first trip wasn't too great. That's why they call it hunting and not shooting.

On that note, I'm going to a new spot near Coleman. I'm excited to see what that area has to offer. Hoping my wife bags her first Trophy Whitetail.

Don't know of any independent places for that but NTB does all that and has locations down there.

You started a road trip knowing you needed an oil change?

5500 mile trip. Even if he changed it before he left; there's a good chance he'd need one before it was over anyway.

Oh duh. I didn't think about that. I use full synthetic so I go 9,000 between oil changes

Thanks for the ideas. And yea, I try to be very prompt with oil changes, but I don't really see the point in changing 2,000 miles early. I knew I would need a change sooner or later, just more options in Austin than in say, Carbondale, IL.

9,000 miles really? Anyone else do that? I am every 5k.

It isn't hard for me. I have a small journal in my glovebox that has a maintenance and mod history in it. I record the date and mileage each time something noteworthy gets done to my truck. Plus, I have my UG set to tell me my oil miles as well as an alarm when it becomes time to change.
Also, when I say I wait 9000 miles, that means it usually gets done a little after that point, haha

Even with synthetic, waiting till 10k miles would make my butt hole pucker, depending on how much you drive. If it takes someone 6-8 months to get that many miles, I can't think it's good for the engine,as oil does break down over time.

I usually try to do an oil change every 7k but have gone 10k before. I have not had an metal shavings or other alarming materials in my oil.

    Mobil1 every time.
