Yep. I wish my work would close in bad weather but not the case. I try to have fun on the roads in this stuff and see all I can. Last year's ice storm was interesting. And yes my Tacoma was on the news driving in it so maybe the 4 runner will become famous as well.

 

Well, school is canceled for tomorrow. Woohoo. Not sure about work though

 

My work never closes. If I wasn't scheduled off tomorrow I'd have to go in. I had to go in last year when the big storm came in. We were in the middle of our maintenance outage so it wasn't optional. I did talk them into giving me one day off though. But the first day my commute (normally 35 minutes) took almost an hour and a half. And I got written up for being late because "weather is no excuse".

 

Wow, that sounds like a horrible place to work. Geez. I work at a family-run business so they are pretty easy going with hours and closing the place whenever it needs to be done

 

Off till Friday. Made a big pot of gumbo today so I can sit here and at least enjoy my comfort food while this crap blows through. Probably wont see it as bad as most of you guys though.

It's not too bad here at my parents' house down in Cleburne.

 

Glen Rose/Granbury seemed to have taken a pretty solid hit. The back roads around here have a decent amount of sleet/ice on them already.

 

Here in Allen, we're getting periods of heavy sleet then nothing, then it starts up again. The Corolla out front is pretty well covered, as are the streets. Office is officially closed, so seems like a great day to continue working on the photo backlog

 

No one came to work on 1st, so I stayed over a few hours. When I finally did head home the roads were fine, the idiots though, saw 4 pretty good wipeouts, the best one was a brand new King Ranch F 250 that spun around and backed over a sign on the freeway and into the guard rail, I just drove by and stared in disbelief. It still had paper tags.

 

Appears we are getting snow tomorrow morning. Based on the different forcasts I have read looks like 3+ inches is going to be waiting for me when I head to work.

 

I saw that too. It'll be interesting to see if they cancel school again

 

Yep I heard 2-4" between 10pm tonight and noon tomorrow.

 

It would be neat if we actually get snow and not a butt load of ice.

 

3-5" is what I've seen, hopefully it'll be free of the icy slick shit so I can actually take the Tacoma out for a cruise in it during my lunch hour. Drive the '06 Corolla into the office today since I really didn't feel like having some idiot slide into the Tacoma (unless it was directly from behind and I could get a plate bumper out of it) after having it less than 6 weeks. Already told the office to expect me to work from the house, have a production deploy to do tonight anyways.

Starting to put together a plan for a week long solo camping and photography trip to the hill country in April. Way over due for a reset of my stress level and finding some quiet hiking trails and flowing water is about the only thing that sounds appealing at the moment.

Nice on the trip plans. Plan it around the blue bonnet bloom. While you are down there it might be a good idea to check out a cavern or 2. Also I would highly recommend you stop in at the Real Ale Brewery in Blanco on a Friday afternoon if you are free. Amazing beer at the new tap room and tour is a great way to spend a few hours.
