I may try to talk my way out of the house for a few hours Saturday evening and come wheeling, it's supposed to be nice weather.

If you do I'll join you, spent some time in the garage today and think I have the shackle flip dialed in but need to test it.

Yeah; I have been back there more than a few times in my old '87 4Runner. It has been a couple years since I was up there last though.

I'll have to try to get out there in a few weeks. Too bad all my work friends bought the wrong vehicles (4x2s). Originally coming from NH, where there is an actual winter, I will never understand a 2WD truck.

How long have you been in Tx? About the time there is enough snow on the ground for 4x4 use that section of the state has shut down.

People who say LA drivers are the worst have never been to Houston. I spent a few years out by LA and personally I really enjoyed the traffic flow out there. As long as you could avoid rush hour issues the traffic flowed okay. Houston.... f that.

I've been out here just shy of a year, and it still amazes me how people can clog up a 7 lane highway at 2 in the afternoon.

I've been down here about 3 years now. I just can't stand to be stranded anywhere. I moved down here and picked up a Scion FRS when they were released. It was fun, but arthritis and feeling stranded in any slick weather made me change my mind. It amazes me the amount of traffic down here at just a sneeze of snow.

Hi guys, I need some help. I'm thinking about buying a 14' aluminum Jon boat from a friend of a friend up in Arkansas. The boat was the guy's grandfather's and he has no title for it. I don't believe it is registered anymore. I was wondering if one of you knew what all I have to go through to get it registered for Texas. He wants 400 bucks for the boat and trailer. No engine. Would it be worth it?

Last I looked at that you will need a bill of sale from the previous owner and then either find or make a VIN for it. I would call your local tax assessor's office though as it has been a few years. Also the trailer will have to have it's own title as well. Currently boats will have three titles depending on the size of the motor - one for the boat, one for the trailer, and one for the motor.

Thanks. I just learned that it has been registered in Arkansas before, so that might make it a little easier......maybe

Sounds like they need to file for a lost title and then you just have to handle a standard out of state transfer.

It is very hard to get a title for a boat once the original is lost b/c there is no way to prove ownership. I would inquire about it before purchase.

I know it isn't stolen. The boat was his grandfather's.
