Just look at the build thread
Meh, the Allisons really aren't any better than any other transmissions in stock form. Ford, Chevy, or Dodge doesn't really matter. Put more than 500hp behind them and your transmission is going to blow if you haven't upgraded it.

The un-American part was the 1 million mile Jeep idea if Toyota owned Jeep.

What is a 40 if not a million mile Jeep?

Let's see Jeeps motor and body hold up like a Toyota and I am not talking about that one that a buddy's uncle-friend-son-brother-in-law has.

I can tell you without a doubt a Toyota will outlast a Chrysler Jeep. Not even a comparison.

Small rant. You know the electrical tape that call car manufacturers like wrap things under the hood with these days? Toyota product (mine for example) 06 with 115k on it. Tape looks new. 2013 Jeep, most of the tape was coming off after 6 months, leaving cheap electrical connectors exposed.

Or you could also point out the plastic fenders that will fade at 1 year old.

Or the metal (magnesium maybe?) dash subframe that you can reach under and snap pieces off with your bare hand.

Oh, or the transmission with a manufacturer defect that sounds like a supercharger... And Chrysler won't warranty noises, so "call us when it breaks down and we'll fix it".

    Scratching the rant surface!

Dodge finally figured out they don't know how to make a transmission and put the Aisin in the new 2500 and 3500s.

I would go back to a Toyota in a heartbeat if they would make a truck with a 4000lbs payload.

And I haven't ever been impressed with Fords.

I live pretty close to Hwy-71 and FM1209 15-20 miles west of the western edge of the fire.

Not good.... From Bastrop County Emergency Management: "At this time, we are lowering the containment of the Hidden Pines Fire to 10% due to the growth today. Our firefighters are actively protecting structures in the evacuated areas."

One of the reasons I'm a ham radio operator.

    http://kxan.com/2015/10/14/hidden-pines-fire-continues-to-burn-in-bastrop-county/

Hams are being called on to help offer communications for the Volunteers. Not the firefighters, but the people supporting the community, housing the displaced, dispensing water, etc. I'll be volunteering all day Thursday and likely Friday. If you're a ham and not Familiar with your local ARES or RACES group, please consider reaching out to your local coordinator for more information.

This is unfortunate. From Bastrop County Emergency Management:
"Currently, nine homes have been confirmed lost. Addresses are being verified at this time, and crews are actively trying to confirm or deny additional losses. More information will be released as it is confirmed."
