    Yes.
    If you're staying IN Austin for BBQ without waiting several hours:
    * John Mueller's Meat Co.
    * la Barbecue

    There's also Terry Black's (Although I'd suggest a trip down to Lockhart (Black's BBQ) if you want to try the real thing.)

    Thanks, I'll check those out. I just landed at DFW, it's surprisingly dry here.

    Any recommendations for good music joints in Austin? No club scenes, just good blues and jazz.

    I'm still confused as to why you would fly to somewhere 200 miles from your destination when that place is served by a large airport.

    Im saving about $120 and I get the best advice on where to go in town by getting rides from the locals.

    I flew to Destin this weekend to visit my mom. Our flight to ft Walton Beach got cancelled. So we ended up flying to Charlotte NC, then from there to Mobile Alabama. Then she had to drive 2.5 hours to come get us.

    Did you plan that or was you trip determined by forces outside your control, I just find that the inconvenience of trying to bum a ride 4 hours south with a deadline isn't worth saving $120.

    The weather on Friday got our flight cancelled.

    Definitely not worth $120 IMO. My time is valuable lol. 4 hour drive, 240 miles ish. $40 in fuel. You saved $80. Yeah not worth it.

    We learned our 1:30 flight was cancelled at 11:30. We finally got to my mom's place at 2:30am after the delays, layovers, etc. I could have drove and got there 2 hours earlier.

    I drive to Pensacola at least once a year. It's really not that bad of a drive. I don't have to get a rental or inconvenience anyone for a ride, and I can go anywhere I want on my own schedule.

    I'm having some interesting interactions with dealers.

    Lost Pines - person 1 just stopped responding to e-mails, person 2 (who took over for person 1, saying that person 1 dropped the ball) never answered my question, and stopped responding. that's a first. question was - "can you show me the build?"

    Toyota of Plano - sent info via Costco. Email one "have you received all the information you need?" my response "i haven't received anything from you...". 2nd e-mail, new person "have you received all the information you need?" my response "i haven't received anything from Toyota of Plano."

    Normally I do drive. Been going every year for the past 7 years. Already drove once this summer. This is the first time I flew. Hopefully my returning flight tonight goes smoothly.

    Avoid Toyota of Plano. I got my FRS there and that was a cluster of a process. Then traded for my Tacoma. Biggest mistake. Their service people are decent, but their sales and finance folks were one step from being dragged behind my truck. I personally won't go back there for sales.

    Try Toyota of Dallas? Not sure if their car salesmen are good, but they are the home of TRDParts4U and they have been great to me.
