Yah it was that big accident at 30 and George Bush. Apparently the cars got swept off of I-30 onto the service road.

    Way too close for comfort...

Saw a map of the tornado. That was a big one. I don't recall seeing one that lasted that long. And it skipped over a body of water. Were there people stuck on 30/ GB when it hit? God that had to be horrifying. There's nowhere to go.

NWS is calling it an F4 in Garland, F3 in Rowlett. Damn.

Ya that was the first accident I had to stop at, it was bad, the apartments were horrible neighborhoods were difficult to get through last night as well. I drove for miles on an empty highway since it was shut down. Here are just a few pics of the houses I had to go to. One guy greeted me with a loaded AR in his hands

What a mess! I drove home from Fayetteville AR to Houston today. Stayed in the rain the entire drive. I didn't count how many cars were in the ditch, several of which were roll overs. I guess people just don't know how to slow down when there's standing water on the road.

I drove from Fayetteville to Dallas the day before yesterday. Rained on us pretty much the entire way.

Also, I'm looking to get information on plasma cutters. I think I have an idea of something that I can make money off of, but I literally don't know anything about plasmas. Right now all I use to cut metal is an angle grinder with cutoff wheels. I would be cutting sheet metal less than 1/8" thick for these projects. Any economical brands to look into?

Colossal Tech Cut 50 plasma can be found under $400 and according to a youtube video, it seems decent enough....Anybody heard of it?

I've used two machines, a Hypertherm for the cnc and a miller for the hand torch. Both had worked great at times and both had issues. I guess it depends on the goal in mind. What are you cutting, and how much of it?

I've been looking into getting one as well and I found some (surprisingly) good reviews on pirate4x4 of this plasma cutter, http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Plasma-...-/381283529554?hash=item58c644f352&rmvSB=true

Its cheap and Chinese but it supposedly works well. I think @colinb17 might have just got one from what I saw in the fabrication thread, he might be able to chime in on it.

i did get one of the cut50s about a month or so ago. I got it based on the recommendation of a couple fabricators that I trust. I got it wired and hooked up to the air compressor, but have yet too actually use it. might get around to using it a little this weekend, on some 1/4'' plate, which is at it's very limit, so we'll have to see. for what you're using it for, it should have more than enough punch. like chris said, it gets surprisingly good reviews on pirate, which is very hard to do if you have spent any time on that forum.

I'm actually in the same boat right now looking for a plasma. I have used a miller which was nice. No probs with it. I have used 2 Longevity machines. One with the pilot arc and one without. I would recommend one with the pilot arc. I think that function is well worth the money.

Awesome, keep us posted please. Really looking at this being the next fabrication purchased for me, cut-off disks can only go so far.

I have been poking around on Pirate 4x4 as well and saw some good reviews there.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a pilot arc?
