The biggest difference that I can tell between Pilot vs Non-Pilot is that the pilot arc produces a flame or arc right off the bat, before you touch the tip to the metal. The Non-Pilot requires you to "strike" an arc on the metal before you begin cutting.

Mexico is fixing to have idiot child as a guest for a long time. They found a gun in his hotel room and he claimed it was his. Apparently nobody told him what Mexico does to furiners found to be in possession of illegal firearms. (Or he thought daddy & mommy could buy his way out of this mess too)

He should have never left the States. I'm sure that long sentence for gun possession in a Mexican prison will be easy worse than the sentence he could have bought his way out of here, or bought him self into one of the nicer prisons.

Hell, after he spends time in the Mexico jail, and gets out, wont he still have to serve him here also?

I guess he thought his parents could get him out of this jam too. And yes he should have stayed this side of the border. His sentence would have been a whole lot less and Mommy & Daddy's money would have bought a whole bunch more. What a maroon......

Good to be home after spending a week in Big Bend Ranch SP. If you have not been to the state park you should make time to get out there; it really is beautiful and the trails are not technical. IMG_20151227_155753664_zpsaiek2a0v_012ad3155fbdcf3c385085c8eccd2459ee90abdd.jpg

It was a pretty great trip. I am really hoping to take a small 3-5 rig group back to do some real exploring of the unmaintained 4WD trails there. The upper northwest trails are supposed to be amazing but even the rangers do not go up there unless they absolutely have to.

For the 4WD unmaintained trails - I am going to say no in comparison to how the other trails/topography out there has been. I only had to use 4Lo a couple of times on the Madrid Falls area. The unmaintained trails are mainly about the trails not being cleared and the plant growth not being cut back. Also that is why a group is recommended. As for their idea of "high clearance"; they recommend 8" or more.

Thanks for the write up @tx_shooter. I've only been in TX for about 5 years now and have heard folks talk about Big Bend but really like your perspective and pics. Definitely going to add it to the list.

No problem; it was a great trip but just a little long to get out there from DFW.
