I have a coworker who lives at stonegate, never have fished there though.

We should go fishing Palestine sometime. I have access to two private docks, one at my neighborhood, one at Eagles Bluff CC.

Keith I thought we agreed that we would both get to many tickets and most likely kill ourselves on a motorcycle

Its stupid really, im scared shitless of moving back to the states. I havent been home in 6 years. I have a good 2 friends, i dont know how to start. It will be the first time on "my own" without the government backing me up. Its not a money issue either.

Not stupid - BTDT when I came home from the Corps. While I was only gone for 4 years alot had changed. My parents got divorced, my Dad sold the small farm we had, my Mom was remarried already, my best friend had died, and I had some personal demons I was trying to drown.

I bought a bike and rode my ass off. I did 20k miles that first summer home and found what I was looking for somewhere out there. It has been almost five years since I came home and I still get that feeling sometimes that it is all a dream I'm having and any minute the radio will go off and I have to grab my gear and get outside. I do know if it wasn't for my bike I wouldn't be here today.

I feel pretty silly saying this but really the guys on here that i have connected with, like Keith and some of the garage guys have really helped me the past 2 years. I mean really in the states i have one person waiting for me... thats my best friend we text but thats about it. Just having people to talk to and BS with and share some of the same interests means alot. Its definitely kept me going. I couldnt thank the guys enough.

I know the feeling your talking about. When I get out riding the only thing that matters is the bike (and gas :D). I got out with a drinking habit that had me blacking out two or three times a week. It was one of the factors for me to get out of the Corps.

Today - I'm better. I have my drinking in check for the most part. I still kill a bottle of Crown when it is all starting to get to me again. I keep my truck stocked like a small armory; a few cops have commented about the ammo stockpile I keep around, but it was in tongue in cheek from them. School will do you alot of good to start getting back into a civi life - just don't loose your mind on the college kids. Be careful when you get out in town having fun - I had a buddy at College Station spend a few years with murder charges because of a bad night out at the V Bar.

My bike of choice was a '97 Harley Fat Boy. I got a screaming good deal on it and it keeps me from killing myself. I have rode street bikes and they are fun... but I will do something stupid on one if given enough time. I enjoy my Harley and have found some good brothers to ride with when I feel the need. Otherwise I enjoy riding alone and having a good time listening to the pipes.
