You're selling your truck? If only you were selling it back in January, would have bought it off you.

Hey Blake. Look for a geo metro or storm. I think they get over 40mpg.

you should keep your truck and get a car like my dads that runs off of used cooking oil. And no im not joking he has an 77 mercedes diesel that is converted over to waste vegetable oil. My dad has almost zero mechanical no-how and did it all him self. He drives to dallas almost daily so it really does work. Plus he gets 30 mugs all the time and the grease is free!:D

Ill post some pics of his set up if you want, its pretty cool.

Fiesta or Focus? I like the Focus, the Fiesta is bearable if it isn't that ugly green. My sister essiantaly has the Fusion (she has the Mazda 6) and she gets mid twenties in the city and gets somewhere around in the thirties on highway plus it is fun as all get out to drive.

you can get an old mercedes diesel off craigslist for 700$ that runs and there is no engine swap what so ever, its a lot easier than you think. To make it run off of it is easy you just have to put a make shift tank in the back and put a valve in to switch from diesel to wvo.

I know of a lot of people out here who own Fords with very few if none major mechanical problems. My dad's got an 07 F150 that we tow our boat with and he uses to haul stuff around for camping trips and such with 80,000 miles that is as good as it was when he brought it home with 0 miles. Of course there is a big difference between a Mazda 3 and the F150 but I thought that Mazda made that one as well as the 6 as part of their partnership:confused:

Here is the make shift wvo tank.

I am not pushing this but it is very cool/easy to do and basically free fuel.

Yeah, I understand. It is all your choice, do what you feel is best, go with you gut. Just don't turn into that lentsnh (or however you spell his screenname) and go out and buy a new vehicle every 3 months.

If your looking for a new cheap car then your looking in the wrong direction. Your going to find your best deals after the car hits 100k or 5 years of age. That is generally when most people dump them.

New car fever can be fun, I actually helped my friend pick out which truck he was getting :D I steered him and his dad towards Tacomas, and as long as you aren't spewing bull shit all over our faces about it I have no problem.

I wanna take a first gen like yours and turn it into my trail rig...

I think I keep underestimating the value of first gens.

Here you are Blake, this is all you need. Just make sure the timing belt has been changed.

I had a 97 that I put 35,000 miles on in a year. I sold it with 200,000 on it. There is only one vehicle I have ever owned that I trusted as much as that car, and that's the truck I have now.

    EDIT: And keep your truck!

I guess I just hate to hear about someone selling their truck...

So, why do 4 runners sell so much cheaper than tacomas? All they are is a tacoma with a different body right?

    Anyhow, this is tempting me.

If you get rid of the truck you must leave... Down the walk of shame. After all, this is, Tacoma World. Not, small compact car world...
