We're still just rain here in Tyler. We did have a couple tornado warnings a bit east of here earlier though.

They say the wind chill is -3 here in plano... The last time I felt this cold was working in Minnesota last winter, so I believe it.

I myself want to get this done as well. I know there is plethora of places to go but have heard a few horror stories as well & want to avoid that. Have a coworker who just recently took a class w/ Big Iron CHL. http://bigironchl.com/ As most are it was a one stop shop but only one full day & not a gestapo / drill sergeant atmosphere. According to him all passed & a few w/ out any prior hand gun exp'. Not that they gave it away but the instruction was available for who needed it. One that may be worth a look. One option I do like is that they will cater & discount too a large enough group for a class. Wonder if enough T/W members would be interested for that?

If your military, you should ask the American Legion near you if they do a class. The one near the base here in Houston gave one and it was really good. I found out about it through military channels, but it was open to all civilians. And it was more relaxed since most didnt even have to go to the range since they had their range card.

Anyone in the ice storm staying home today? I went to work yesterday, left @ 4 a.m. had no problems going in. I left work two hours early. Today I am staying home. There where a few "nuts" (people who drive fast on icy roads) out yesterday on the highway. Driving by me at 60 plus. Pissed me off. I figure there will be even more "nuts" out today and more wrecks today then yesterday. I'll go in Thursday. My weather station says it is 11 degrees ferinheight @ the house this morning.

Came in late yesterday then had to get a hotel last night, staying off the roads as much as possible but still had to get here.

I would like to stay home, but I doubt I will be able to. We are in the middle of a large install at the hospital I work at and it has to keep moving forward. If I'm lucky I'll probably wait till closer to 10am to go in.

Left early & took my time coming in today & I travel 20 through Arlington to the Dallas line. Center lanes have a good path for the most part & did not need 4 wheel drive. Traffic light but as usual a few idiots who still feel the need for speed so let em' fly on by.
On another note w/ the kids @ home the wife called & said the power is out. Called Oncor & they are doing rotating power outages of 15 minutes due to grid overload. Sounds like a camping trip about to take place in my living room. Good luck out there to all & be careful not to let that idiot flying by bounce off of your paint........................

Yeah, us too yesterday and today, most of HDQ was told to stay home, and I haven't figured out how yet, but we are essential to operations.

The power outages would suck, but the roads haven't been too bad other than the idiots that fly down the roads in the z71's and 4x4's thinking that four wheel drive will save the day, dumbasses don't realize its the stopping that is the bitch on ice.
