    By the way, I'm not trying to show off my dad's experience. It took me a lot of thinking to choose my major, the part that kills me is how people automatically assume I took engineering only because of him.. Still understandable how people see that though

    Sadly, other people's perception of you and that can be your biggest obstacle. Your going to have to keep at it and prove them all wrong.

    Did you look for any engineering tech or assistant jobs in Dallas, Austin, or Houston? When I was going to school in austin, i worked summers in Tyler, and now here I am.

    They all want engineers that have finished their second year, I do know how to make cad designs really well, but I have no idea where to look for jobs that want that

    It is called feathering the clutch. This takes time to develop but it is a worth while skill. Besides, my wife knows how to drive a standard so you should be able to learn too. :D

    The key to learning is to let the cough out real slow, and when you feel it engage, and almost start to stall, just give it a little gas.
