For all I know, you won't ever need to have your wisdom teeth pulled. I only did it because they were going to become impacted, and I just had my braces removed a year before. (Didn't want the wisdom teeth to screw up my newly aligned teeth)

I had all four wisdom teeth pulled while I was in Japan. The DoD directive came down that no one overseas could have wisdom teeth. The doc didn't know she had me scheduled at 11 on a Friday afternoon and she had a noon tee off with her friends. Needless to say, after two shots and 10 minutes she was crackin my wisdoms. The whole thing was done inside of 30 minutes. Not my favorite afternoon to remember, but at least she wrote me a script for some good meds.

I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 18. They were impacted so badly that they had to sew my cheeks to my gums to cover the holes left from the surgery.

I thought it was normal to get stitches afterwards.

But it's not normal for them to actually stitch the side of your cheek to your gums...they usually just close the holes up by stitching the two sides of the gum together.

They gave me a rubber tipped syringe to shoot directly into the socket, I don't know why they didn't give you one
