    We aren't sure either.

The F 250 my Dad had with the 7.3 PowerStroke w/ AT averaged around 20mpg mixed and 23 on the hwy. That used to piss me off. When he put it up for sale I wasn't in a good enough position to buy it or I would have. It wasn't a top of the line truck, but it did have the 4 doors and 4x4. It let it go for $10k.

It will be ok. I think.

Well... what color are you going to paint them? I'm thinking white would have some good contrast to your truck.

I was thinking either the regular black or maybe a dark grey. I think white would clash with the whole theme I've been going for.

If I go with grey I will do the rear bumper that color too

Biggest issue would be the gears. Most duallies are pretty low geared for pulling. As for the motor; that motor got a full rebuild at 350k because he had the available funds to do it. He figured he might as well while he could. All the guys that I know that had them called the 7.3 broke in at 100k and old at 500k. Back when hot shotting was really starting to pick up a friend of mine had a 3/4 ton with a 7.3 he started out using to pull loads. Once he had the money together he bought a Chevy 1 ton to pull with. After a month he said he liked the Chevy's comforts better; but he couldn't afford to keep fuel in it. The 7.3 pulled better and cheaper than the Chevy diesel. He said he would raither eat his hat than admit it. I never let him forget it either, lol

Voting gunmetal. It will look sharp and keep them from blending into the truck's body. You paid good money for them, let those suckers be seen!

Yeah. Not a big fan. Then you'll look like some of the guys from Vegas with a better bumper.

Yeah, you should be able to get the rattle can at either Lowe's or Homo Depot. Just make sure and spend more time prepping them than actually painting them. Rattle can paint jobs can look good; they just take more prep work and patientence (sp).

Are you buying used or new? If used (I am a little biased) but go forth and buy the Ford. If new go forth and buy the ford. Better workhorse IMO.

It is ok. You said you wanted experience working on motors... buy a Chevy and you'll get just that. lol

That is how my Dad converted my cousin. He was always asking my Dad for rides to the parts store. He got tired of riding in a Ford to get parts for his Chevy. The last Chevy he drove was that one. :D
