First ticket I've gotten since I've lived in TX so I'll have to figure out what my options are.....

I grew up in Massachusetts and the only options are pay it or go to court to argue it.

I also thought it was weird that it doesn't say how much the fine is on the ticket? In the two other states I've lived in they basically hand you a bill....

You can do like "probation" and not have to pay or a dd class(I have one this Saturday ) that's if you go to the court and talk to them. Or you can just pay it. How fast was it for?

usually there is a place on the ticket to sign and mail it in with the fine(u have to call to find out how much the fine) and they give you deferred adjudication where you cant get another ticket within 3 months, and it wipes it off your record... every city is different though, most bigger cities do put how much the fine is on the ticket, others dont.

My computer was on... I wasn't. I was on the edge of being passed out. Sorry to hear about the ticket. If you can take the DD course and get deferred adjudication. Take the class, pay the fine, and 90 days later your record is clean like it never happened. I've done this a couple of times... ;)

BTDT a couple of times. I got a ticket for doing 65 in a 40 on my motorcycle over a bad set of train tracks. I called complete BS and ever the "chief of police" in that two cop town laughed at the ticket. He still wouldn't drop it though. That BS cost me almost $300 before it was all done. Now I refuse to spend any money in that craphole town and I'm not the only one.

Well, I need to head into work. It doesn't matter when you start a 12 hour day... it is still going to be a 12 hour day.

I once got a ticket while passing through Montana where the speed limit signs only said "Drive a safe and reasonable speed". The cop asked me if I thought 95mph was a safe and reasonable speed (for the record...it was flat, dry, and not another car in sight on my side of the highway). Being a dumbass, I said "That's a matter of opinion". He then asked me if the police in Indiana (where I was from) thought it was a safe and reasonable speed. Being a true dumbass, I said "well...they have these signs that tell you what they think is safe and reasonable...". Oops.

I had to pay the ~$70 fine on the spot. I asked the cop what happens if you don't have cash and he said they take credit card or will follow you to an ATM.

HaHa! Thats awesome. I have to say though $70 is a reasonable price for a 95mph ticket I think. Because I got a 82 in a 70 in the middle of west texas, was gonna have to pay $130 ticket, but I decided to take dd, but they added court costs and I ended up paying more than what the ticket was.

Thats what my first ticket was but 77 in a 65 in Georgetown. Both my tickets were within a mile of eachother, same speed and everything. That town is a speed trap from hell! My ticket was $175 though

As soon as I get a lil money saved I have to spend it  then I need 2 new tires :( Ive decided to go with the tread wrights

I was required to go to court b/c I was 16 when I got the ticket and my parents had to be present also. You may not have to I'm not sure. If you call the city municipal court they will tell you

No you wont as long as you are over 18. What you need to do immediately is mail in and request a copy of your driving record (which is required to take DD). It's like $10.

You have to go to the police station or wherever they said to go (on the back of your ticket) and let them know that you are choosing to take DD. They'll give you the forms and give you 90 days to take the class.

They actually have the DD class available on the internet now.

    Good luck!
