Does anyone know any places in/near Austin where you can go shooting? Not sure if places like this exist in Texas but when I was in California there were areas in the desert where you were just allowed to shoot. If not (I expect there aren't) what are some good ranges?

If you're talking about Red's Indoor Range then I've been there, it's ok but I just really would prefer open land with no range officers/other shooters.

I figured that much. That's the problem, I just moved here from NY so I don't know anyone in the state of Texas.
