Honestly though it is a decent part of my plan. 4x4, knowing back roads and abandoned homes in the country, staying mobile, getting away from the cities.[/QUOTE]
I've only been here a couple years, and am surrounded by city. I guess I'll have to hijack the ferry and take my truck across the bay.

No, Blake strips for a living.

As for my bug out plan; securing other resources is a decent part of it. I do have enough food/water at the house to hole up for a while before needing to on the move. Then I know the majority of the back roads to some isolated areas around here. The bolt cutters will open most any gate chain I come across and there are quite a few deer camps that will do just fine for my purposes. :D

You're right; we never have horrible tornadoes, riots, hurricane storms, floods, or ice storms.

Failing to plan is planning to fail.

Nothing particular...anything could happen. Natural weather phenomenon, global war/chaos, grid meltdown, rabid raccoons, and dont forget the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

Okay, the zombie apocalypse makes sense. I still have yet to finalize my plans for that one.

Just, I need a bigger truck than mine to safely tow it...

My dad had me tow it around at the boat storage place we use and I could get it moving, just wouldn't want to travel long distances, make abrupt turns or stops, or go up hill.

That's what size tires are on my truck, along with a bunch of other people.

In other news, I got my weekend project in the mail today. I got these bad boys:

Rotfl at "Roof?" I took my brushguard off last month actually. They are going in my bumper for the time being, I've got some ideas brewing that should be pretty sweet if they work out.

I thought you had an oem roof rack, it wouldn't look bad up there if you had one.. :D

I wish, Im an access cab so unfortunately there is no OEM roof rack. Believe me, if there was, I'd have one and it would have lights on it. Eventually I'm going to make some sort of rack so I can mount lights, but I'm just hesitant because you have to drill holes in the roof. I really want to do a rack with a rigid bar so it's low profile, but that's a long way away.
