That is a very realistic approach to dieting that you can maintain long term. I do something very similar to you accompanied by daily exercise.

Well I used to eat bread, tortillas, or some kind of bread with every meal. As well as drink soft drinks or sweet drinks as well. I found keeping my carb intake lower helped me out a lot. I do eat more fruits or good carbs I guess, I'm in no way going full no carb dieting, I think that's extreme. This pretty much that has worked for me so that's what I have stuck with.

Gotcha. In my opinion, balance is key. Like I had chocolate this morning. Yet I’m losing weight. Have 1 tortilla. Not 3. 1 sweet drink. Not sweet drinks all day. Gotta find the way you can diet for life. I counted my calories for a while until i pretty much got it down where I know what I’m eating.

But getting hooked on water is key. I used to hate water and drink sweet tea and Dr Pepper alllllllll day. Now I just drink water. It was hard at first but now it’s just a habit.

It's not the low-carb as much as it is eliminating/reducing the crap-carbs that are all over and so so easy to munch on, snack on, and find at every place you eat out. For me, the only thing I tend to watch is my carbs and that has worked great for me.

Although, I will say, his comment on carbs early is interesting, since that is one of the things that I do, but never saw or read anywhere, it was just something that seemed logical to me.

Definitely, balance is key, I still have sweets here and there. Yup giving up those sweet drinks is hard but I'm trying. If I squeeze a lime in the water it makes it easier for me.

I am a carb addict who is now carb sober of such :anonymous: my diet used to revolve around carbs. Gone are the little debby snacks and in is thd greek yogurt with granola. I have not starved myself of carbs but replaced the carb intake witj healthy carbs like vegetables, fruits, brown rice etc. I have found that feeding my body healthier carbs & calories makes me feel lighter, stronger & way less bloated. Moderation is key like you posted above. I will still sneak in a flour tortilla made by my momma or a slice of cake at a birthday party now now I try & leave that towards the end of the meal when I have eaten the proteins first.

Yup those snack carbs are the worst, especially if your job intells being stuck indoors most of the day and your co-workers bring in crap to snack on.

When I was getting myself off diet cokes I first did the low calorie juice powder that you mix into water. Then I did the lime with 1 packet of sweet n low and finally just straight water. Its a struggle but it can be done

Idk if every body's body is different or what but even when I'm cutting, my carbs are always the highest percentage of my diet. I mean duh, high fructose corn syrup is bad. Anyone trying to be healthier, gaining, maintaining or losing, should completely cut that shit out of their life. But sugar? Have you guys seen the calories in sugar? A teaspoon or so in your coffee or tea ain't gonna break the calorie bank.

The most productive thing you can do for your health is cook all your own food. No prepackaged or prepared foods. You want a pizza? Then learn how to make dough and sauce from tomatoes. You'll see a huge improvement over a year just cooking everything you eat

This is what I do. I start my day off with oats and have some home made muffins I munch on when I get hungry and all that.

Carbs give you energy too. I don’t understand how people live without em lol

Carbs and protein are my main macros

Ha ha, I hear you on the configuring part. The time factor can be frustrating. My cals fluctuate from 2300- 2800 depending what I’m going for. I used to do more cardio before and my intake was more, but have dialed back some and just eat a little cleaner.

An interesting side note that might only apply to me.
I notice when I'm cutting and my fat intake is pretty low, my sex drive almost disappears. So I like to cut back slightly on carbs and protein and boost my fat intake. It helps me feel normal.
    Anyone else experience this?

I’ve noticed my sex drive down and I never put the correlation with my fatty foods being non existent at the same time.

You may have something solid with this.

Lmao when you’re fat, you cut as much excess weight as possible before doing the winter bulk stuff.
