The bacon-infused bourbon has been in the freezer, letting the flavors combine since about 7pm yesterday...

I get home at about 6 tonight. Hopefully it'll be good n' smokey-flavored tonight!

 

update to what i'm bringing, plus i'm bringing my chick cause she wanted to come and staying the night, also i have silicone and a box of latex gloves leftover from my previous mods. I've got everything ready to go firepit, but no table cause my folks are having a party for my uncle that night and need it, but the food, drinks, ice chest, tools, tent, truck and me are ready to go. Let me know if there is anything else i need to bring as far as tools and equipment, if i have em i'll bring em. There may be some goodies up for grabs too, for all you "VULTURES"

I've heard that before and when I actually have let her go by herself there's hell to pay when I get back. This time I'm going to be smart about it and stick by her side.

For yall that are bringing stuffed jalapenos do you have chile grills? I only have one like this.

Well I think 2 or 3 people said they were going to do stuffed japs. I have 1 chile grill and wanted to know if they had one or we can do them in rounds.


Cant really think of anything I need. I want to make sure that those of you bringing food do as much prep or even have it already made. Wife is sketchy on folks cooking in her kitchen. Besides that I think we have everything covered.


So who's going to get here first?

Oh yeah casey are you bringing Dr.Pepper bbq sauce? I dont usually put BBQ sauce on my ribs but I will make an exception if your bringing that. This is my usual rib marinade.

 

I'm sorry to say that it hasn't turned out yet. I am still working on a suitable replacement, however. I took the bacon-infused bourbon out a few hours ago and did a taste test. You'll be excited to know that I had to add more bacon. I should be able to strain it again in an hour or so. I'm going for enough of a bacon scent without the Bourbacon drying out your mouth like cotton. (That's what happened to my first batch last year)

Oh, and for those that are curious, I used Maker's Mark.

 

Hey Drifter. I am going to premake all the japs and then take them out there for the cooking part. I just wrap them individually in aluminum foil and toss them on the coals, so far that has worked for me lol.

I have that Jap grill thing I will bring it.
