I couldn't get mine too much tuned, it dials out after half a mile or so but I think I just grounded it wrong.

Billet grill, CAI, debadged, hella fogs, custom bumper guard, trd skid, trd sport bed decals(not stock), bilstien 2.5" lift, aal, halos, interior neons, lots of random paint.
I contest. This place is pretty good. Other than that Olive Garden or a bar/pub would be your only options.(at Least in Huntsville)

You guys have those hood mounts. Not sure if that's part of the issue, maybe just try and bed mount them.

I seem to have lucked out with mine. My SWR when I initially setup my antennas was around 1.5. I should recheck it sometime.

I'm on a bed mount as well and peg out.. But I think I messed up when I installed the N connector on the cb side.

in theory, the hood mount should give you a much larger ground plane compared to mounting it in the non-conductive, composite bed.

i used to have mine clamped on to on eof my tail light guards (absolutely terrible for ground plane). worked fine. works a lot better on top of my bed rack now, but i also have a much better radio than before as well.

I still don't think that's the issue, I have a grounding braid connected to a dedicated ground, I just think the washer / plastic bushing / nut and grounding braid is in the wrong order. I will jack with it sometime to get it right.
