So my understanding is that this isn't a show done "by the toyota plant". This show was the brainchild of a truck club that many of the workers were in, and upon talking to the bigwigs at the plant it got SOME support. This is why you don't see anything official yet people.

It's also being held at the local flea market, NOT AT THE PLANT. So for those of you expecting this to be a higher budget Toyota corporation plant backed thing...nope. This is a truck club thing with minimal involvement from the plant.

But look at the bright side---barbcue'd corn with red shit on it, and roasted turkey legs!

I have sources that say otherwise. An "official show" means it comes directly from and only from the plant. Your truck club is the one that brought this up to the plant heads looking for support. They are giving you minimal support mainly because your group asked about it. I've also been told it's a 50/50 chance that you'll get more support from the plant.

If I'm wrong, where's the official information on the Toyota website? (http://www.toyota.com/owners/web/pages/community/events#more) They always put up events for official Toyota events well before hand. Where's the local news channel coverage of this first big time event from the plant? We know they won't cover a truck club meet, but they'll surely cover an official TMMTX event because it's a major contributor for San Antonio's economy.

Calling it something it's not isn't going to garner more support. Calling it what it is and being honest about will do you better. That way people won't be mislead into thinking it's some big TOYOTA plant thing, be disappointed with the hype vs reality and put the blame on TMMTX when it had nothing to do with them to begin with.

I'm rooting for you though because if the plant does give more support it will make the show better, but with this timeframe it's doubtful on this go around. But if this end ups to be a big turnout, it would hopefully catch the attention of the heads in terms of being good PR and building advertising for the plant (and in turn more Tundra/Tacoma truck sales) which could lead to an annual thing that actually is hosted officially by the plant, with local and national sponsors, vendors, side events, and so forth.
