you're just reminding me how bad i miss the coast. DFW is such a shithole.

 

We're not from here, we came for a baseball tournament. We're from a small village called "Hidalgo" 3 hours south from CC.

 

that's a nice place to be. i'm from HTX originally and ended up here for friends & work back in the mid 90's, and work kept me here. i moved away from DFW four times and work has brought me back four times. i'm in Denton now so it's all good, but i have been missing the coast like crazy since having two babies in two years, yikes! we were in CO over the new year and honestly the trip sucked. i miss the coast so bad it's the only vacation i think about.

 

I'd like to live in Central Texas, maybe 2-3 hours north, or south of Austin. CC is a big oil hotspot... refineries all over the damn place!

 

Even Denton is a slight shit hole

that's true. in all honesty my high school drum line went to CC for a competition in the late 80's and we thrashed the hotel and parking lot and made huge trouble that nobody forgot. and whenever i see pics or mentions of CC i start talking like i gotta get back. so i can throw more heads of lettuce off the balcony at cars. teach my kids some tricks.

i'm in a super nice spot, and we are happy in Denton here. it's good for the kids and family generally, so i'm committed. i just don't feel very at home here.

 

the waco area isnt that bad. right in the middle of everything.

 

personally, i wouldn't say Waco "isn't that bad" but that's just me. Denton > Waco.

 

Down here in McAllen, the infrastructure here isn't that bad... here's the only problem: everything is so fucking far from McAllen.

 

It’s a new neighborhood in South Denton. North Denton is pretty old and quirky, im just a little tired of living in the area.

some of those south denton spots are nice if you can navigate the future development explosion. we looked down there and decided to prioritize a large lot with space between the houses. i found a kind of lost old school neighborhood in far N denton with huge lots, so we are pretty protected from development, but that's still happening all around the neighborhood. yeah this is definitely an old quirky neighborhood, just two streets, and it looks like everyone here is either 200 years old with blue hair or is in construction and parks their work trucks in the front. i'm wondering what happens to this place as the blue hairs move on.

Carded a bad ass 2nd gen 040 DCSB at the yoga place I always pass by.

Never seen it before but had a lot of mods and racks with everything imaginable.

Really hope they find us and come hang out ​
