Pretty easy upgrade for those that want that look of matching your side steps and roof rack. I bought aftermarket mirror cap replacements and shot them with black truck bed spray. All together, $65

It’s actually not if done right. Remember we’re talking about plasti dipping mirrors on a Tacoma. No one would notice.

I’ve plasti dipped parts and rims on my other vehicles in the past and it’s nothing like this. Texture is the main thing. The other is, this won’t peel off like Plasti Dip.

I did this to mine as well after someone too off my mirror on the highway. The after market mirror came unpainted so I shot both mirrors with truck bed spray

It’s shit by design. The only benefit to it is it isn’t permanent. It isn’t a paint, isn’t meant to be permanent, and isn’t as durable as a proper paint coating.

I know some people love it and think it’s the best thing ever, but it isn’t a paint replacement, and it sure as shit isn’t a bedliner alternative just because it’s inexpensive and can be done in a driveway by anybody who can read a can label.

I never said it was a paint replacement nor did I ever say it was a great bed liner. The OP used bedliner on his mirror, not his bed liner to begin with. I think you're spending too much time being angry at Plasti Dip and not enough time actually reading the thread.
Plasti Dip does exactly what it's supposed to do, be temporary and be used within expectations. Saying it's shit because it's not permanent and not as durable as paint is comparable to saying the Tacoma is a really shitty sedan.

Who’s angry? Jesus, TW regurgitates the same 3 things and anybody who says different is angry?

Spare me the sensitivity and click ignore.

Here are my plastidipped mirrors. It's all about application, works best with super light coats. I took my time and did this in 6 or 7 different passes with 10 min dry time between each. It matches the texture of the off-road fenders quite well! Not saying it's a replacement for paint or black textured plastic or bed liner, but its a conveniently cheap option and is reversible with extremely easy touch ups possible. Every product has their place, some have preferences for uses. All good fam, enjoy your Friday.

side note, looking at my photo, man now that chrome signal housing is bugging me now.

Just checking in, over a year later and Plastidipped mirrors look as good as the day I sprayed them with plenty of off-roading (dirt and sand) adventures and the accompanying washes.

People that hate on PlastiDip don't use it and if they do they most likely use it incorrectly. It definitely has its uses and is cheap. I dipped my Off Road grille and it looks awesome. You can also spray some clear PlastiDip as final coats for protection.
