3rd gen owners who have poured a ton of money into their truck are now worried that the shiny new thing will outperform it....4th gen owners are concerned they've just spent $50k+ on a shiny new thing that might be riddled with problems. FOMO, jealously and other undesirable elements of the human condition.

Ooh I know the answer to this one. It’s because truck guys are some of the biggest snowflakes in car culture.

See changes I made, and change the date to 2016, and it is now about the third gens being shat on by 2nd gen owners.

    :cookiemonster:

I, for one turd gen owner, think the 4th gens are mechanically awesome. My gripes are super minor. That stupid third brake light thing lookin' like Jessie from Team Rocket, the stupid porthole sliding rear window, and they made the cab even LESS conducive to putting in a GMRS/ham radio. For the average joe, these things are of absolutely zero importance :D

I read something about the new Prius saying if you put a CB Radio in it voids the warranty because it interferes somehow with the battery, was wondering if that is going to apply to the hybrid Tacoma's too.

Wasn't this a subject of discussion here before? I kinda sorta remember. Anyway, this is a thing:

    https://spectrum.ieee.org/am-radio-ev-interference

Think this is an industry wide move. Save design and manufacturing costs adequately shielding electronics. Seems the only frequency they don't worry about is the one surrounding the junk band (bluetooth, wifi, etc).

    https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/1af3jsc/ham_radio_banned_from_prius/

I searched the owners manual but couldn't find it in the manual they were referencing. Here's the '24 Prius warranty and I still can't find any reference to ham/CB radios :notsure:

    https://assets.sia.toyota.com/publi...Z*MTcwMzAxMTA2My4zLjEuMTcwMzAxMTA4My40MC4wLjA.

It's kinda the same as you'd expect elsewhere. If you put an aftermarket suspension on your tacoma, that doesn't void every and all warranties, IE the radio shits the bed. But if you modify something, the warranty on it is gone - IE, suspension, and then your CV blows, that's on you.
