    Haha, good point. Personally I joined at the beginning of the 3rd gen and there were some serious teething issues with that generation. The looks of things for me is that the 4th gen will probably have a better performing transmission but questionable reliability with the motor and the potential for electrical issues as these cars get increasingly more complicated.

    Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.

    Same. I could have bought the 4th gen. Thought about it a fair amount. But for better or worse I bought the last year of 3rd gen as it made the most sense for me. God willing it holds up. I definitely think its a truck that will age well and not look like some of the older vehicles I see that tried too hard for a "new" or "futuristic" look and just look ugly now.

    They said the dealer swapped out the entire differential and sent it off to Toyota, so no details on the exact failure yet.
