Buyers delayed their Tacoma purchase for the “new and improved” 2020 model.

I think the writer of the article took full advantage of a moment to mention the Tacoma in a negative light. I figured it was relatively common for sales to dip in the month before a refreshed model. Maybe my Tacoma bias is kicking in.

I swear those TFL guys jump at every opportunity to bash Tacomas.

Not everyone will buy a Tacoma and that is probably a good thing. May get a better deal if I ever need another truck.

They did pick the Pro over the ZR2.

I agree. Altough imo TFL aren't real automotive journalists as their tests are really inconsistent. On one I saw before I just ignored their videos, I think a ford had a box trailer, a dodge had a horse trailer, and a chevy had a deck trailer.

Thanks for sharing. The Jalopnik article is all over the place. It mentions downward sales for Honda and Toyota without citing figured, then goes on to discuss GM’s labor strike at length before ending with a feature about Tesla’s manufacturing venture in China and BMW vs Mercedes sales.

At September's sales rate, Furd Ranger should sell 100K in 2020....a far far distant second to Tacoma.
Someone's truck will always be #2 or 'dead last' in annual sales.
