I can live with it. I'll be picking one up next year most likely.

Thanks for the link. The PDF with all the specs is very detailed, but there is one major omission: Overall length of the truck is not listed. Maybe I need glasses, but I've looked it over several times, it's not there. I need to know if DCLB will fit in the garage. And Limited is only available in short bed???

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Well I am glad the 32 MPG was not true. Means I have no reason to want the newer one

I wonder what mid size would be most reliable :drevil: No answer necessary, it was a rhetorical question.

According to the Sweers video, the 2016 in 4 inches longer than the 2015, which is 221.3 inches for the DCLB for a total of 225.3.

    That depends...
What is the reliability of 6 year old Tacoma, having gaping hole in the frame from rust, that just failed state inspection, and no longer can be driven?

Pretty good once you buy a rattle can of paint, and a harbor frieght welder and source some scrap steel your problems are solved.

Thats what I tought, until I realized boxed section is made from sandwiched metal beams. Unless you have some nanobots to get inside that boxed frame, and plate in there, its not going to work. You can only weld to outer skin.

Ahh. I have not cut up or repaired a 2nd gen taco frame.

I have done many old yota frames though.

Sounds like a pita on the newer one.

Theres another pdf with more specs. http://www.tfltruck.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/2016-toyota-Tacoma-Product-Info.pdf. it lists the overall length. The short one is 212.3", long is 225.5"

I was going to buy a new Tacoma, but BlueT has convinced me that Toyota's midsize truck is an inferior, unreliable, cheaply made, piece of shit. I guess I'll be buying a GM product.

And Toyota does attempt to repair / replace the frame even out of warranty if it presents a hazard to any passenger of course, but you fail to mention that. Wait til the Chebby breaks down and see what GM does about it. There is a reason it has a 100k mile warranty.

Wow, 2 mpg better on the highway on the V6 auto 4x4 as compared between the 2015 and 2016. FAIL Toyota, big FAIL.

The TFL Truck sounded like he was really putting effort into saying positive things about the truck. Not a good sign.

You obviously missed people posting that their trucks failed inspections before Toyota started recall.. Guess what happen to those 30K trucks that no longer can be registered ?
Also you have missed info from NHTSA ruling, there will be no more frame replacements so 2009+ truck owners are on their own.
I got my frame replaced, because I made frame last long enough for replacement to kick in. So I am set... I will get some interior parts from salvaged newer trucks due to frame..

Dont know, its a toss between Titan XD and Colorado Diesel.
If I get Titan I keep my Tacoma, if I get Colorado Diesel its goign for a trade.
Both have better numbers than 2016, both are more capable.
Reliability is something not worth mentioning on rusting frame truck.
