TFL talks about the off roading capability of the 2024 Tacoma while also mentioning the failure they experienced. But more interesting was that they expected to get a root cause analysis of the failure. If they do get that analysis, will they share it? Later on, we find out they want to sell this truck to make room for more purchases.

Mention of failure at around 0:49

I was impressed that Toyota wanted the entire front-end assembly.

Not surprised they want to sell it. They got a Ranger Raptor now and I am sure the stripped out TRD is not as appealing.

I think they mentioned something in the ADD broke. I would be surprised if Toyota shares any more than that. They rarely admit to any problems.

Interestingly the 4th Gen 4Runner V8 was fulltime 4WD when the V6 got selectable 2WD/4WD. I wonder if the ADD couldn't handle it he extra torque of the V8, and they forgot about that when designing the 4th gen Tacoma.

My guess is they will be picking up a Tacoma Hybrid to compare to the Ranger Raptor.

This is an exploded view of the ADD showing possible failure points -- some geared pieces and a couple of retaining rings.
Something could have stripped or fallen out of place, as I think they already indicated the actuator (41400) was functional.
I just continue to be curious what broke and why.

Nah, it's more to do with content and what the latest product is. The Ranger is a newer product and Tacoma content is getting watered down on YouTube now. They never keep vehicles long because it makes more sense to go after what will get the most clicks.
