I have been lurking on this site since January. I have learned a LOT about the 3rd gen tacoma from all of you. Today I had to sign up so I could post my experience on ordering my 2016 trd sport long bed in blazing blue pearl, FP package with JBL, tow, mud guards, all weather mats with sills, wheel locks, spare tire lock, and exhaust tip. I contacted my local dealer about ordering this truck. The salesman gave me a quote of 39,489.00 (msrp)that includes the 900.00 DPH fee. I then asked him what kind of a deal can he give me on this truck, he said dealers are not moving off of msrp. I replied that I knew of people getting invoice plus 750.00, he said that's in California though! I left it at that and decided to shop around. The next dealer I contacted gave me what I didn't think was possible, 88.00 under invoice . The same truck and add the tonneau cover for 36,900.00 + tax, title, reg and yes there are doc fees of 299.00 but at that price I did not care. That is a difference of 3,239.00 I'm not sure I've seen a better price yet, and I owe it to TW! I don't have the build sheet yet because he needs to change one of his allocations on the 15th. I guess he can only do allocations/changes twice per month. If I'm missing something feel free to let me know. You can get a better price, just shop around!

I'm in the northeast, I want to keep the dealer's out of it for now, but after I have the allocation complete next week, I will spill the beans. My original dealer does not know yet and probably will not like it!

I think the key to this deal was the dealers don't get along. I told the second dealer that I had a quote for this truck from another dealer (did not say who) and wanted their best price. He gave me his quote, and come to find out he looked up the exact truck I was allocated already added the TC and knew dealer (1) wouldn't be able to Match or beat his price.

Only issue is that you might be waiting but don't worry the supply issue will be resolved. Toyota isn't new at this and a lot of dealers are raping people.

Some dealers are looking to squeeze every ounce of profit out of a sale and I think a lot are smoking crack thinking they will be able to find someone dumb enough to pay $2K over MSRP while people are watching their 401Ks girate daily. Reminds me of a TRD Pro that is still sitting there not the lot. Sure there are not a lot being made but who the @#@#%ing hell is going to pay $45,000 for a TRD offroad with $1K in wheels, under $1K in shocks and some stickers?

My original build date was 10/19, at the dealer 3 weeks after that. He said he could snatch that up if I wanted, but if I wanted one with a build date of 9/28, get it 3 weeks after I would have to wait until next week so he could change one of his allocations. So I guess mid to late October

Congrats OP. I have been going back and forth on the blazing blue vs a couple other colors but seeing more pictures I have definitely settled on the blue. It looks great.

I worked every dealer in my County to the point of no return. The absolute best price I was offered is a few hundred over dealer invoice. Congrats OP, please take that deal.

Yeah the blue caught my eye from day 1. Although I like the silver and the quicksand, but the ladder I would have to see in person first.

Yup. I wasn't going to pay msrp and that is why I'm not going back to that dealer to see if they would match the price. They would rather say no to 20 people before they sell a truck, instead of making some profit but selling more...
