    1997 Tacoma SR5 4x4
    My dad bought a 1997 Tacoma sr5 4x4 in the late 90s/early 2000s. Eventually my big sister ended up with it, and last year it died on the side of the road. She called me and said if I fixed it I could have it (239,000 miles).

    I fixed it (MAF was bad...this was my first "buy OEM" lesson - the autozone one fixed the problem but turned on the CEL; a used OEM off ebay fixed the problem after many other failed attempts to fix the CEL).

    I have used this board and youtube as my primary resources to repair a few things (CEL referenced above, replace front brake pads and rotors, AC magnetic clutch, drive belts, windshield washer), investigate a few things plan some other repairs (valve cover gaskets, timing belt and water pump replacement, center console replacement), find random things like preferred jack points.

    Mostly I registered to say thank you, and anticipation of needing help with things, as well as perhaps being able to help others.
