@ACREYMAN got a truck that he wasn't happy with and traded it in- got a good trade in value and got something that will hopefully serve him well.

Nothing wrong with letting everyone know.

Some other members have/ had similar experiences, and others haven't.

Cmon man. 21K sold last month. A half dozen don't like them. Not even a blip.

As a low-end 2nd gen owner, prospectively considering moving into a 3rd gen Tacoma in the next ~5 years, I really appreciate this thread. I've seen inklings of issues and 'annoyances' here and there, but now I see the it's pretty widespread. Not only is an ex-owner (OP) stating his displeasure, but there's support from multiple other owners/ex-owners. On KBB (which I view as generally reliable in terms of vehicle ratings and reviews, as they are from the owners themselves), I noticed that the 1st and 2nd gen Tacos are both sitting pretty at a 9.2/10 while the 3rd gens are at 7.6/10... Jeez.

Use the "tsb" in the search bar for the 3rd gen forum. Have fun reading. These trucks seem to be hit or miss.

What did I miss?? I just bought an 18 dcsb sport last week with premium and tech, love it to death!! I've put 1200 miles on her and went into the mountains, she's amazing and I get 24 mpg! Anything I should be worried about or on the lookout for?

And the tranny, I've never felt it hunt for gears ever, the first one I test drove did tho

I recomend you spend the next 48 hours binge reading 3rd Gen TW threads with no sleep. By hour 49 you will be so paranoid you will be afraid to even enter your garage. And please do not refer to your truck as "she". That's just creepy.

I'm not saying there aren't issue with these trucks, any new generation has problems for first 5 years or so, but online forum exaggerates the problems. You have to look at how many are sold vs the amount of active posters on the 3rd gen forums. That should give you a great idea of the percentage range of people who have problems with their trucks

I went to the hospital and met a lot of sick people. Then I went to the bar and everyone was happy. I'm sticking to the bar.

A little something every chance we get.
Wow, guess I really don't want a new on. And if you want a Prius, TRY one, you will love it. And you will love 45-50 mpg when the gas bill comes. I had five of them through the family, and they were loved. The are NOT a pickup, but you would be amazed what you can haul. When I went to turn my last Prius in, the dealer (11 previous sales/leases), totally let me down. So, now, it's a NIRO (for 45 mpg and luxury), and the Oldie 2007 to do the work. And I had 4 F-150's before my first Tacoma. Old Tacomas' better than old F-150, but maybe not anymore?!

Just meant as replies on here. Has nothing to do with sales. Besides just because 21k sold last month doesn’t mean 5k of them regret it. Anyways the truck and SUV market is on fire right now. Why do you think Ford is pulling most of their car line?

Honestly I think Tacoma sales should be even greater than they are. There isn’t much competition in the segment. The frontier is super aged, the ridge line isn’t really competition, you can argue the twins are but I think GM hurts their mid sized sales because they discount their full sized so much just to get sales. When the ranger, Jeep truck and new frontier hit, you will see Tacoma sales take a hit. Hyundai has been said for a long time to have a truck in the works and I think I heard the other day Subaru is working on something too. Going to be tons of competition in the segment in a short time
