You’re welcome for my service. Jk you guys are awesome.

Actually the ironic thing is I wrote a paper years ago that essentially stated that the service memeber shouldn’t be thanked but rather the American citizen should be... for giving the soldier a reason to serve. Food for thought.

Glad to see Veterans Day getting some recognition. I always appreciate when someone says thank you for your service. Or states offering free Veterans tags like GA. FL gives you a Veterans drivers license which gets you discounts at a lot of retail stores. Quite a different story than getting spit on 45 years ago at the airport for traveling in uniform. Thank you to everyone who has served and a prayer for those who never made it home.

I was in the Air Force--Active Duty at Andrews '93-95 and Landstuhl '95-98. I like to say I didn't shoot anyone full of bullets, just penicillin. I enjoyed my time in, and wish I had stayed the full 20.

Here's my dad in the Korean War. He was on a destroyer and said they didn't come under fire often, but when they did it was a "say your prayers" moment. He fortunately made it back OK.

I give thanks to those who never came home and those who came home severely wounded - they sacrificed. I, on the other hand, had a blast and pretty much enjoyed every minute (after Basic). No one owes me any thanks for what little I did, but I owe this country everything for what it has given me.
