My wife has the unique ability to put something away in a place to never be found. Getting ready for an RV trip and I ordered a couple of incidentals (first aide stuff). She took it upon herself to put it in the RV the other day. Went to look for it today while getting ready to take off....it's nowhere to be found. Completely disappeared, I looked in every possible place where it could be.
Nothing, Nada, Zilch. After close to 45+ years of marriage I just have to laugh it off. What the hell!

^Good thing you're noticing it now, and not when you or your wife is bleeding out or something...

Similar problem here. Wife likes neat and orderly. So our cabin on a ship looks good, but it takes time to locate some things......

The irony being, I always put it somewhere I can find it when I need it.

I bought a multitool style torx wrench , wife put it in the junk drawer without telling me.

Was trying to do some work on my bike and couldn’t find it so I ordered another one. She put that in the junk drawer too.

Now I have 2 torx multitools.

Sometimes things just fall into another dimension temporarily. I've dropped stuff on the floor and when I go to pick it up, just gone.

Some parts of the world have a marked propensity for this phenomenon. In my part of the world, I have found these causes, in no particular order.
    • A kitten that liked to help me work on things by batting them into the gutter or carrying them away.
    • The intercontinental 10 mm socket problem, that is experienced in every tool-using culture, everywhere.
    • An unseen trickster, who will put things back after you tell him that it's not funny any more.
    • A chindi. I won't go into depth on these except to say that an exorcism is sometimes needed.
