I think its ugly...and having to do a partnership with BMW and use their motor...its already a loss in my eyes. Probably gonna have paddle shifters too.

They need to just make the mk4 with a new interior and same engine & moving parts but strong enough to take 1000hp

That is questionable, but Toyota knows reliability is a concern for their buyers so I believe they worked with BMW to make it a strong motor. They even said something along those lines in an interview. I doubt they would let their most legendary car tarnish the brand image.

I can't complain too much cause Toyota lost its touch with turbo engines after the supra. The new 2.0 turbo in the lexus models is a slug compared to the 2.0t in BMWs. I've driven both and its amazing how much of a difference there is between the two when they are even rated for the same HP.

Yeah but relying on another manufacturer for the most legendary car in toyotas history is bad in my mind. I don't have much faith in Toyota USA anymore anyway

Oh believe me I like the fact they're trying, I like the FRS/86 but don't get why Subaru was needed in that partnership? If it wasn't called the supra it'd probably just another ugly(might grow on me) concept. I'd rather the LC500 be called a supra just because I think it looks better.

I think I would've been pleased with the 86 being called the supra, to be honest. Was thinking it'd be somewhat similar to it but wider and a bigger motor. Hoping the interior is nice and somewhat reminiscent to the MKIV

You're the only one, I don't think anyone else would want a new Supra to have 120 HP less than the MKIV.

From the looks of it, this one will be much more hardcore than the MKIV. I just want to know how it compares with the new Camaro and Mustang, I'd probably still go with a used GT Premium.

HP isn't the entire story, its only rumored to have 335 but that can easily change as it is just a rumor. Plus it is a lighter car by possibly >400 lbs and BMW rates their engines for less than they put out. My guess is it has the possibility to smoke both of them on a track but be less livable day to day.

It probably wont be a N54 though right? I thought they were starting to phase it out.

I meant looks wise, the power certainly isn't there.
