    They did a oil filter analysis on this forum. RP has the least amount of filter media of any filter, something like 60” sq. Factory filter had the most, like 250” sq. I only run a factory filter.

    I’ve read through it. I’m gonna take a chance this time. After 8k-10k miles with an OEM filter, it was black as can be coming out, worse than my previous puralator.

    I don’t think any oil filter is going to prevent black oil. Oil turns black as a byproduct of combustion

    Just blacker than last time... and I changed it at the same interval. I run her hard all the time, she’s been leaking too and has a slight head gasket leak, something ain’t right.

    :frusty::rant::annoyed::help:

    Audrey seems to have given up on me, today on the mail route she was having intermittent loss of throttle, no codes or pending codes, scan gauge showed that when I lost throttle the ECU wasn’t seeing any change of position of the throttle which indicates bad wiring or faulty TPS, shop ran a diagnostic on the TPS and it showed good but since it’s an intermittent issue I don’t really trust that.
    Went to buy a TPS and oreilly didn’t show the correct sensor, sent the VIN to dad and he went by the Toyota dealer since they were still open in Cali and they showed the old style throttle body for that VIN, the old style used the same sensor that the parts store has but the new style seems to make you buy the entire throttle body to replace the TPS.

    id really like to see someone get the actual filter media specs. all the filter media in the world wont help you if its not filtering small enough particles.
