The “My Back Hurts” Thread

I’m just being dramatic. I’m glad I bought because it’s only going up in equity. But it does suck when things go wrong. I bought an older home so I’ve already re-did the bathroom, ran new water lines in the house, put a new roof on. Next spring is a new driveway and going to start on a shop.

 

My sister house (I rent from her) was an ‘86 and we redid both bathrooms, repainted most rooms, coated the laundry room and back porch floors, ram a good bit of ethernet, took trees out of the back yard, I think that was about it.
Now we have to replace the back fence as well as the roof due to hurricane damage and therefore will be doing some more work on the back shed and building a lean to, as well as a new electrical panel to support a generator hookup.

The cool thing is comps have gone up about 10% in the past year.

 

Very nice. My house was built in 57 so it needed some TLC lol. I bought it as a fixer upper. I want to paint my living room and remodel the kitchen, then I’ll be done inside for awhile.

 

Kitchen remodel is a job but it helps so much, it should be a decent boost to value also.

 

It’s difficult being on vacation...

The last week has been pretty awesome, I came back to work Tuesday and we left work 3:30 Tuesday (we usually leave at 5:30) and now today and tomorrow we leave at 2:30 because the crew forgot we are working 4-8’s instead of 4-10’s to account for the holiday pay we’re getting. The only downside so far is one of my co-workers tried to kill me yesterday by almost dropping the backhoe bucket on my head and snapping a T-post with the bucket of the backhoe while myself and another co-worker were holding it in place.

 

Well, I'm stuck in the house for 14 days. What shenanigans can I get into....

 

Get on YouTube and learn something new.
Make yourself do a 30 minute in-home workout.
Take a day to go over your finances and make or tweak your budget.

Edit: download Duolingo and learn a language.
Get online and start a Roth IRA if you don’t already have one.

 

I said shenanigans, I don't want to adult anymore. Lol. Hopefully my test comes back negative and I can go back to work. I'm only a day and a half in and I'm already going insane!

I have a Xbox but I don’t know where it is. I haven’t watched a full movie start to finish in months. I’ve watched three today so far.

 

I have an interview in 12 hours for a job that would dramatically increase my income, hopefully they don’t expect me to be completely knowledgeable about the industry because I really don’t know very much, I’m just waking in with a good attitude and a willingness to learn.

I actually tested negative, thank God, so I was able to go back to work. But I had a fever for a few days and other covid like symptoms.

And I would love a first gen, but I want a regular cab 4x4. They are hard to find, especially first gens.
