In the same day I got a call that got me a school tour, a job offer from Amazon, and approval from the state to work with an exposed firearm..
Weird how things can go from preparing to be homeless to not in a day

Head gasket is/was leaking on my truck, I'll be at this job site for not sure how much longer (probably a minimum of 2 weeks) and I'm not sure if I'll be able to go home or go straight to another job after this. On the plus side I'm working 60 hours/week which means the money is pretty steadily coming in.
I'm starting to shop for a new/used truck, probably an f150 or ram 1500 and I found out tonight from my credit union that the interest difference on new/used almost makes it worth it to go new.

 

2/4 of the cars I’ve owned have had bad head gaskets. Nightmare.

How do you have such bad luck?

Fuck that, I want decent towing capacity and fuel economy.

 

Tundra is the best out of all the mid size trucks, towing. The 4.30 rear end makes a world of difference. I tow 7000-8000lbs all over the lower 48 with no issues.

It’s ultimately your decision, but... Toyota reliability is only available on a Toyota.

I got approved today to buy the truck that I wanted, it’s in Fort Worth so I called a buddy to go look at it and he called me a little while later and wanted to know if I was aware the truck didn’t have an engine.
Apparently the engine had an issue and is being replaced under warranty but they said it could be 30 days before it’s installed.

 

Bmw is in the shop, failing smog even though it’s stock and there’s no CEL codes. Secondary air “not ready”. Shop said something about it could potentially be a split wire or rodent damage. Then I remembered the rat bastard that was leaving trash on top of the engine before I caught his ass.
Always some shit. Nothing can ever just be simple in life

 

I’d be happy to wait for a new engine personally but that’s just me

I don’t really want to wait because of the head gasket in my truck, and I’m also slightly worried that the truck might be a lemon, this will be the 3rd engine it’s had and it’s also had 3 owners in 34K miles.

I’m going to test drive a truck with the V6 instead of the hemi tonight and we’ll see how it goes.

That sucks about the BMW, Cali Smog rules can suck it.
