    Nice haha

Very family oriented base, so if he's married or has kids it'll be a good place. Otherwise it's all farm land and the only thing to do is drive an hour to Kansas City and hang out at bars or clubs if you're into that kind of thing.

Gaunt how the hell are you running the 5 foot firestik? I just got the 4 in today and holy hell, this thing is way beefier then my old ProComm antenna. Have to get my CBI bracket in so I can mount it!

yeah, the firesticks are basically a fiberglass stick with some thine wire wrapped around it, then gel coated.... im looking at redoing my setup anyway, as with the lift i wont fit in most parking garages and the firestick dosent have any good tie-down points on the tip, so i may go to a 4 foot... sad thing was i ordered the 6 and got a five... after i saw how long it was i think i lucked out

Edit: if i ever get around too it though i may go to a uniden Pro 520XL with a 2 foot whip and a 2 Meter HAM radio set up... not exactly impressed with the range im getting and dont know enough to up the power on my radio, nor would i want to deal with all the legal garbage with that.

Double edit: what tires are you running? i like the idea of tall skinnies but they dont make a 245/85/16 and 255/85/16 is larger than i want to go..

My new Firestik is about 2x or 3x as big in diameter as my old antenna. I went all Firestik as far as wire, coupler, antenna, and I bought a Cobra DX IV just to get the job done for now. I want to look into the 75 though, just for space saving reasons.

I do however need to order the pot belly spring for it. If I hit anything with it the way it is now, wouldn't be surprised if it snapped in half. So fucking rigid haha. I couldn't imagine what a 6' would be like

Edit: I have the stock tires on now but I'm going to go up to 265/70/16 firestone destination A/T and dip my wheels

Stock... what size is that? and what antenna did you have previous? im looking into something a bit lighter... and shorter.... i noticed the other day that the BAMF mount flexes a good bit with all that antenna on there....

245/75/16. I had a procomm 4ft, it was okay at the time but the firestik is better. I bought the CBI mount, lots of people put the 4ft on there so I shouldn't have a problem.

cool.. will look into the 4 after my lift then, still $450 away from being 2 inches higher. also, as a note, 18ft of coax WILL NOT run all the way to the dash on a DCLB... its about 4-5 ft short.

i saw... i was mad cause the guide i used for some install tips was written by a guy that owns a DCLB.... and hes running a tailgate mount in the same position as mine... but never mentions that you need at least 22-25 ft of coax instead of 18 that it normally comes in....
