Both are as old or older than myself and all rigid, i've never had suspension.

One steel frame GT all terra Triple Triangle 26" 21spd all Shimano everything

One aluminum frame GT triple triangle 26" 21spd all Shimano everything and it was fully built about 14 years ago by my brother. It has had several thousand miles on it between myself and my brother. Is so worn out that it slips in every gear but 2nd and 3rd. But i just couldn't let it go. I have plans to rebuild it (several years from now) but i want to replace the front steel forks with some sort of shock set up with a lock out for when i'm on the streets. I'd also like to move up to a 27 spd shimano set up with a whole new crank. I'd leave the brakes alone because i'm not sold on all these new fancy disc brakes that are fluid based....i'm not fucking bleeding brakes on a goddamn bicycle thats asinine

I had a GT when I raced bmx. I only raced one season then did freestyle the rest. Can't remember the model name though. I thought the same thing about the brakes until I got the stumpjumper. It's a huge difference especially going down hill in the woods. Better brake control and they don't get as iffy as the pads when you get totally soaked or caked in mud

Clamp style is enough to have flung me over the bars several times, i've never been thrown when riding a bike with disc brakes....i want that safety net that they will work to the point of killing me instead of just fading and not actually locking my wheels. I'm just old fashioned like that.

Never broken brakes either, just worn out pads and cables.

Sheared off gears, chains, cranks, broken bars in half, decimated wheels, bent frames, broken seats but never a seat post.....and lots and lots and lots and lots of tires/tubes

I'm the same way, between swimming/cycling/hiking my legs are almost all muscle, but the rest of me is more fluff than I'd like. Last weight check was 205 and I'm 5' 11" without my boots

I love driving. I woke up this morning and drove across town only to turn around and come back. Burnt a hell of a lot of gas, but idk it's worth it. Anyone else like this? Lol
