if you were looking at going back to stock for performance... the 1-GR has only three methods for more power. one is Forced induction, the second is an Aftermarket EMS, and then there's NOS....

And yeah, these trucks sound ricy with most mufflers... IIRC the only one ive heard that i like is the flowmaster 50 series

I actually find that with the more open muffler and the second filter delete it's more peppy.

I use a really long straight hill on the highway to judge, normally with cruise set at 110 going up the hill it would drop 10km or so an hour. Then with the muffler it went to like roughly 8.. kinda too close to tell.. But after I took out the second filter it only drops abour 4 or 5. Pretty substantial if you ask me!

Mom has a 2008 explorer that has had random issues with OD shifting in and out at ~50 MPH and after I got my job at the dealer they decided to bring it in for repair, tech couldn't recreate the problem so they said it had no issues but they would recommend a trans flush, fuel filter, and air filter.

I get it back a few days ago and it drives funny, something's wrong but I just can't feel what, every once in a while it would lurch into a gear or shift very slowly or abruptly.
Tonight on my way home I realized if I stop quickly then go the trans would slip and then drop into gear and almost chirp the tires, I made it through 2 stop signs like that and all of a sudden CEL comes on, truck is sluggish, and trans is making a whirring/grinding noise.

Short story, trans is stuck in 3rd gear when gear selector is in D.

Sometimes changing the tans fluid removes the wear properties of the clutches inside the tranny. So sometimes if you don't change your fluid often enough you're better off just leaving it!

Yeah, the service advisor told dad that if he did the flush it may speed up the demise so we did the flush and now we'll be getting a new trans (hopefully) for $100 because of the warranty
