    Agreed on all fronts.

I also refuse to go in debt for school. I'll work three jobs and bust my ass if i thats what is required. I just refuse to take out student loans for all those rich college owners and shit. I'll go in debt for the practical things property, vehicles, appliances, etc.

Diesel techs are one side of automotive repair that is worth venturing into, if you like mechanics. They're paid extremely well here, and are always in demand since we have a strong agricultural industry here with our vineyards.

Yeah I'm not bashing vets or anything. But it's not a real smart idea to hire worse people for particular jobs. I have over 30 applications sitting right now...it's just so slow for them to do anything.

I have interviewed for some but didn't make it. I have one potential one that I was told about early on in the job search that didn't seem ideal...but I may have to go for that one now.

I'm used to it haha. I was in FFA through high school (Future Farmers of America) and everyone used to call us "Future (another word for gays with an F) of America".

Then I was the only girl in shop class and so I got made fun of constantly...

I just DGAF about most stuff anymore haha

Booming here, my fiance's cousin works for Lockheed-Martin as a propulsion engineer and makes HUGE money at 29 years old or so. He's a prick, but his income is silly.

No idea on the school :anonymous:

Anything to get your foot in any door is what I'd do. It's easier to find work when you're currently employed, also FWIW. I hope it works out for you whatever you decide.

I've thought about it, I love diesels (The efficiency, the power, the noise, the smell) but will all the EPA mandated BS I don't really want to work on them.

I'm going tomorrow to a local dealership to apply for a job so I'm employed until spring semester, but I don't have high hopes.

When I turn 21 if I'm not happy I'll most likely go into LE.

I even asked my fiance, she doesn't know either. If it's still unanswered next year when she graduates I'll take a picture of the joint for you. :D

If I remember I'll text her tomorrow and ask directly.

That's the tough part these days...most jobs you can't (physically) get a foot in the door because it's all online. It's annoying.

I've also been applying well below my level just to get in. You only have to work for a month and then you can transfer to other jobs, plus you get hiring preference since you are already in the system.

Negative. Blue ribbon, and nautical blue are darker than indigo ink. I've parked next to both and compared.

I know, I've dealt with a few electronic enrollments before. They're time savers for the employers and largely a massive waste of effort for everybody else, but it keeps them from losing too much money trying to find someone to fill a job position.

Definitely suggest calling and asking for HR at the places you're interested in working and expressing interest in the job first, then if they tell you to go online that's all you can do, but at least they will know your name since you spoke with them and they'll have some type of impression. I've had 2 jobs previously that the phone call sealed the deal for me, they looked me up as soon as I entered their online dog pile and yanked my info and the job was mine, all because I called and they had an impression of me that they don't get from other people who just throw their hat into the ring online. You'll be shot down a lot, and some companies who use that hiring process HAVE to use it for new hirings so you'll hear a lot that you "have to apply online," but it can make a difference since there's no rules saying they can't pick you specifically within that system.
