What's that test that you can take to get a stamp on your diploma that signifies something for engineering? I think it's like FE engineering test or is the PE that you're talking about?

Just got some awesome news. My uncles trying to hook me up with an apprenticeship/internship or whatever for a huge muffler distribution center for the summer. And if that doesn't work out I can still get a full time job paying $15 an hour!

That's double my shit minimum wage job last summer that was part time. So I'm stoked either way.

Pfft only, minimum wage is a lot worse than $12 an hour. I felt like I was just wasting my life for that measly sum of money.

In California, at least, PE means you've taken and passed the state's examination. I suppose you could call it a "stamp" in that depending on your area of expertise, you would be allowed to stamp drawings with an official stamp.

You can request a waiver. A waiver requires you to have some amount of experience whether or not you have a graduate degree. The amount depends on accreditation and degree.

Which effectively means most people will be taking the FE exam first.

I worked with a guy who immigrated from Poland. He did the waiver thing although I have no idea how his degree is from an accredited university unless they count accreditation as "state recognized institution". Crazy story to go with the guy too. He was there during the cold war years and one day, he just left. No packing, no saying good-bye. Vanished.

There is and I have no idea how you do what ever it is and just walk away from everything including your family. Couldn't tell even his closest friends.

You'd be surprised how often certain foreigners show up at colleges near government installations....
