You don't NEED to go to college to be successful. You need to get off your arse to be successful. College is not for everyone, and if not in college, there is nothing wrong with going to a trade school or learning your trade via job experience.

However, just because you don't NEED college to be successful does not mean college is pointless as you are making it out to be by saying "Computer science shit degree thing".

 

That was my approach to everything in highschool, I never took an AP class because those were for nerds and the exams cost money. Told myself I didn't need college

And now look, I go to a university to study one of the hardest majors lmao

I give you shit because i believe going into the working world with no formal education past high school is a reckless decision. Any college time on your resume puts you a peg higher than the next guy they interview.

 

Good point AR. That reminds me, wherever you work, you can do whatever you want and be as experienced as you want, but a degree will grant you access to a higher pay scale, since that is what Sam is concerned about.

I said computer science shit because I honestly dont care enough to find out exactly what it is, because there's so many fields of computer science you can go into. I didn't mean to say that all of computer science is shit if that's how you took it

I'm just defending the education system as well as college itself. And answering the age old question of why we are taught math since no one (sometimes including teachers) seems to know.

How did I twist them? You're discrediting formal education, plain and simple. Not that you're necessarily wrong, I just want to point out the things most people don't think about.
