I'm new here and I was just curious if anyone has any suggestions on a decent 3.5 inch level lift for a 1st gen? Or if anyone has a better suggestion on how I could lift my truck.

Welcome dude. What's the budget? Do you offroad or just drive on the street mainly?

There's a ton of info scattered all around this site. But 3 inches of lift in the front is the most you're safely gonna get.

It all depends on your budget. You may want coil spacers or actually want to spend the money on new shocks and lift coil springs.

A much better idea if your just looking for a leveling kit is to buy bilstein 5100 shocks for the front. They have height adjustments for 0" of lift 1.25 and 2.5.

Here is a picture of my truck with a 3 inch lift all the way around and 31" tires. It's a bit much, but looks good with the 33s I have now

Right now I mainly drive on the streets there are a couple trails in my area I have done. I feel like I need more clearance before I do much more but I definitely want to get more into off road. And only having a minimum wage job I would like on the cheaper end.

And finally, this was my truck on 31s and the bilstein 5100s I mentioned

I think I'd suggest saving up some cash instead of buying a lift then, because a cheap 3" lift is spacers and blocks and those and offroading don't always play nicely, which means you'll likely break something. I don't know what your bills are or financial picture looks like, but by going off of minimum wage job I'd say that you'll want to avoid breaking parts for now.

Ok so with the bilstein 5100's in the front that gives to 2.5? What did you do in t he back? And did you run 31's the whole time or could you fit anything bigger under there?

I could have fit slightly bigger tires but I don't know by now much. For the Rear I actually bought a new leaf pack.
There's a ton of options for the rear though. You could buy lift shackles, blocks, add a leaf and so on. A set of AALs isn't too expensive and is a good option.

Ryan's going to come in here one day and he's going to pistol whip you. Then dump your weakened, soft skinned body into a cargo container full of hungry seamen.

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
I don't care if you drive on pillows all day. Do not get spacers. I have 3" billet spacers and the ride sucks on and off road.

I've went through a lot of different things. I first went with 5100s up front on top level with stock coils and nothing in the back. Had a little bro lean but got 32x11.50s BFGs with the pinch weld mod and trimming plastic off front bumper
    [IMG]

Then I put some eibach springs on the front with my 5100s and a custom omd leaf pack in the rear with 5125s valved to 9" of travel. Ran same 32s for a while then went to 16s and got 285/75 KM2s
    [IMG]

Then added a little weight up front and the eibachs settled nicely
    [IMG]

Then I switched out the front setup for some sway-a-way 2.0 adjustable coilovers. They worked pretty good but I bought them used and needed a rebuild a little after I put them on
    [IMG]

Then I sold the coilovers to a buddy and bought brand new King adjustable coilovers. The kings are a way better quality than the SAWs. You can tell just by looking how much beefier and better designed the kings are. I also went back to 15s and got new 33x12.50 MTRs. I love my ride and wished I would have just bout the kings in the first place instead of doing all these different setups
