There aren't any stock 1996 Tacoma's left in Maine. All have either rusted away to nothing or been plated.

By that standahd I'd be writing Tacomer too. I figured I'd keep it easy for everybody who's not a Maineah.

Lol. In Farmington the only Jive we've ever been exposed to was on "Airplane"

That's cool, though. I grew up on the same hill as the ski slope (Titcomb Mtn) and used to ski down from my parent's house.
I also feel as though we may have had this conversation before...

I dunno. I don't often reference Maine. But you're also the only member I've noticed from Maine (off the top of my head).

    How's the winter this year?

Not many of us have this new 'internet' thing, so I'm not surprised. Thanks Al Gore!

So far the winter's been crap. We had a couple of good storms in November that dumped about 18 inches of snow, but then December was super warm and rainy so it all melted. Then January hit and everything froze up again (didn't get above zero for a few days straight). We've got about 6 inches of snow on the ground right now, with nothing really in the forecast yet. Still cold, though. -13 at the house this morning, but it's warmed up to 16 above here in town now.

I guess that's good in a way? Seems like the news always says the winter snow storms pile snow on top of snow on top of snow in Maine, and then in summer it's all about flooding in Maine. Am I incorrectly drawing a correlation between those two things that doesn't really exist?

Does the snow melt of heavy winters cause the flooding, or is it in conjunction to heavy rains?

Shrug. Heavy rains in the spring on top of a heavy snowpack usually is what triggers the flooding. However, a lot of the state's revenue comes from winter tourism, and if there's no snow then there's no snowmobilers & no skiers. Plus the plow guys take a hit, and all of the service industries that support people traveling to ski or snowmobile take a hit too. Plus in the spring you need a couple of feet of snow to insulate the roots of the sugar maples from warming up too fast and shutting off the flow of sap, so the syrup makers lose too.

Wow, thanks for the insight on that. Hope the snow picks up.

    Yeah, me too.
Economics aside, I just like it. I like watching it fall, driving in it, hiking, skiing, camping, & hunting in it.
I even think it's fun to plow and shovel, haha!
I'm in a great mood during the winter as long as there's snow. Otherwise it's just cold and dark and depressing for 5 months and there's nothing to do.
