Ah, I see. Can a remote start turn a vehicle off? If you tried to remote start a running vehicle, would it have the same effect as you trying to crank it while it's on? (Don't do this)

As for accessories, I would link it to a locking tailgate or maybe the hood. Not sure what else I would need to do from the FOB.

With my system it turns the truck on and off with the same button sequence.

When you get in the truck after the remote has started it, you put your key on the ignition and turn it to ON....(not START) and you press the brake pedal. If you turn it to START it will crank the starter and the computer will shut the motor off to avoid blowing the starter gear.

If you press the brake pedal without putting the key in the ignition and turning it to ON, the motor will shut off.

If the truck is running and in park (HAS TO BE IN PARK), you can press the button squence on the remote start and it will take over, the parking lights will turn on, and the truck will run for ten minutes. You turn the key to off and remove it....again, the truck will run for ten minutes on its own and then it will shut off.

I get no confirmation from the remote that my vehicle is running, however the parking lights do turn on so i can see that its running or hear it because of the loud exhaust

So if i need to run into the post office or run in the house and piss or what have you, i can let the remote start take over instead of leaving my keys in the truck or turning the truck off and forcing my starter to crank the motor over again.

I do not. In Maryland, pistols have to be locked in a case in the back of the vehicle where the driver cannot reach it and ammunition must be sepparate from the handgun.

Rifles and long guns can be cases or laying in the open as long as magazines are empty, ammo is separate from the firearm, and the firearm is empty

You basically have no right or means of defending your vehicle and are supposed to just give it up to a carjacker or what have you :(

I don't know, most have a timer that shuts off the vehicle after 5-10 minutes, but I don't know if it can be setup to shut off on command.

Locking tailgate would be a PITA because you would need a servo in the tailgate.
Hood latch would be doable if you could get a trunk hatch release system put in.

    I do
Ms residents can carry in the vehicle as it is an extension of their home.

That's a pretty cool system! An anti-theft too! There are times when I'll just be in the store for a minute, I hate to leave it on with the keys in (Free ride!) but I also don't like to start stop start stop and wear the parts out.
That freaking blows. Why don't you move to Texas? Lower cost of living and Castle Law FTMFW
Maybe it would but I'm sure Pop 'n' Lock has something that is compatible. Even if it's a hassle, it's a one time hassle. And hell yeah to the Castle Law.
I already said it but Castle Law FTMFW

How about you just get a codeable pop n lock like i have, code it to your ignition key, and leave the fucker locked 24/7

I love that i can leave it on and go do something and come right back. Its great for the little things like running in the store, going to the ATM, going to the bank, etc.

    So they do exist?
Also, depends on how much. Yeah I would probably go with codeable. They should be slightly more expensive if not equally priced.
