    OME 883 front, OMD 3.5" rear, Relentless front bumper, smittybilt 9.5K winch
    Most likely for better brake "feel" the pedal will be firmer under hard braking with a SS line.

    Because everyone who has done it says that it is a thousand times better. And my calipers are almost in need of replacing anyway. I've probably got another 3 or 4 months left on them. I would like to upgraded to extended SS brake lines as well.

    Whoa, whoa, whoa. SS brake lines actually affect braking?? I thought the only point was for the extra length. How does the material affect the performance?

    From what I've gathered, they don't expand as much when pressure is applied to the lines, therefore giving a firmer feel to your foot. Extended length is nice, too.

    Rubber lines flex under pressure, so you lose some power. My old lines are starting to dry rot. It's not a big job, just unscrewing the ends and plugging in the new ones on the new calipers, then bleeding the brakes.

    OME 883 front, OMD 3.5" rear, Relentless front bumper, smittybilt 9.5K winch
    The OEM rubber lines will expand as pressure is applied taking braking force away from the calipers, also giving a softer, spongier feel during hard braking.
    If you take the five of the rubber lines out of the equation you get a better feeling pedal and improved braking for the same amount of pedal travel.
