    Not sure yet dood, they already have to take off the brake lines, but other parts like new coils and UCAs, I may just add on myself afterwards. We shall see

    Oh wait. You mean get the calipers from a tundra. I thought you meant you were buying a tundra! Also can you explain that more? I thought brakes were just brakes as far as oem replacements.

    A common brake upgrade for 1st gen Tacoma's is to use 1st generation Tundra calipers and rotors. The caliper is bigger, so you get more power, and the rotors and pads are also bigger, so you get more surface area.

    You're putting half ton brakes on a light duty pickup, so you get better braking.

    But, you have to have 16" rims are larger for the rotors and calipers to clear. I have 15s, otherwise I would get Tundra brakes

    Thanks! I understand now. Are you getting new wheels anytime soon?
    I sure wish I could do that. What about 2nd Gen tundra brakes? Or couldn't I just get any brakes from the auto store that are larger then mine?

    There are better braking parts to be had and installed on the Tacoma. A guy on the what have you done thread replaces his with better, 6 piston calipers, instead of OEM 4. I think he might've got larger discs and pads too. Probably $$$.$$
