Isn't your engine rated as follows "new"?

Fuel economy EPA highway (mpg): 27 and EPA city (mpg): 21

That is way out of line with what most people report for MPG.

Mine still had the original sticker in it... 2004 xtracab 2.4 5 speed... 22 city 27 highway. I've never had an all highway tank (maybe 30-40% max) and ive hit 21.

Old thread but wanted to post in it .I have a reg cab w/ a 2.7 ltr and gotta say the thing has taken a serious beating. I now have 98k on it and have been tough on it .I really think this is a Great engine and a Great truck .I often run it to 4500-5000 rpms when shifting and always have .I also have to be honsest and say the only maintenance it has had are oil changes , one set of spark plugs , a few air filters , I just put the third set of tires on it (revo II) and just put my first set of front brakes on it at 94k .This is my third Toyota p/u and I'll always buy Toyota's

I've driven a 2.7 manual, it don't come close to my 4.0 Auto but it's not bad for a midsize truck!
